Any 9th-12th grader in the Auburn-Opelika, Loachapoka, Smiths Station area is welcome to go!

Hurry!  Get your $25 deposit in fast.  And tell ALL your friends to come along!

How much????  It's a total of $99 and this includes a rocking t-shirt, transportation, and all your fodo while at Sharptop.  You can sign up by filling out the form below!  You can also get the sign up form online and then email it to ylauburnopelika@gmail.com and mail the deposit.  We hope to have a web-link up and running soon where you can pay for Sharptop online with a credit card. (keep checking the website).

When??? Friday-Sunday January 14-16, 2011

We leave Friday afternoon 4:30 pm on Charter Buses from Dicks Sporting Goods parking lot at Tiger Town.

On Sunday we'll leave Sharptop and be back to Auburn at Dicks Sporting Goods by 5:00 pm.

Other Important Information... You'll need to download a Health Form from the YL website.  You can mail it or bring it with you to the bus.  You'll also find a packing list of what to bring.

Information about the 5K

YOUNG LIFE TRICK O'TROT 2010 

Mission of Young Life:  To introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. Young Life also maintains its mission by providing experiences that are fun, adventurous and life-changing.

Unique Feature of the 5K

Every year, East Alabama Young Life takes kids from all over the area to Sharptop Cove Young Life Camp in Jasper, GA where kids can get away from the pressures of everyday life, have fun with friends and their Young Life leaders, and hear the message of God's love. All proceeds from the 5K will contribute to a camp fund so any of our Opelika youth who would like to go to camp this school year but are unable to pay will have the chance to go.  This year it is a Halloween 5K and costumes are highly recommended!!!

Parking at Opelika Municipal Recreation Center, 1102 Denson Drive.  Race starts at Park Road parking lot, across the street from the Recreation Center.

T-Shirts:  Guaranteed if registration received by October 22.  Late registrants receive T-shirts as supplies last, in sizes available.

Participants will also enjoy food, drink, and live entertainment; registration packets filled with coupons and other items will be provided to first 150 participants to register.

Day of race registration:  Begins one hour prior to race at Recreation Center, 1102 Denson Drive.  Pre-registration is encouraged.

What Is Young Life?

Young Life of East Alabama is a relational Christian ministry directed toward high school and middle school students. The mission of YoungLife is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. Nineteen Auburn University students volunteer their time to be Young Life leaders at Opelika High and Opelika Middle schools. Young Life leaders log many hours with kids — where they are, as they are. We listen to their stories and learn what's important to them because we genuinely care about their joys, triumphs, heartaches and setbacks.

 

We accomplish our mission by praying for young people, building personal relationships with them, loving them regardless of their response, and nurturing kids so they might grow in their love for Christ and the knowledge of God's Word and become people who can share their faith with others. YoungLife also maintains its mission by providing experiences that are fun, adventurous and life-changing.

 

Every year, East Alabama Young Life takes kids from all over the area to Sharptop Cove YoungLife camp in Jasper, GA where kids can get away from the pressures of everyday life, have fun with friends and their YoungLife leaders, and hear the message of God's love in terms they can understand. Nestled in the Appalachian foothills, SharpTop offers beautiful scenery, unmatched facilities and a wide range of activities. Young Life camping involves high adventure, lots of fun, great food and excellent speakers who understand and respect high school and middle school kids. Last year, East Alabama took 125 kids to camp, many of which went to Opelika high and middle schools.
